Here's some exciting information from Frank and Bob, part of the organizing committee of Yonex Canadian Masters Badminton:

Dear Friends and Badminton Enthusiasts,

We are very excited to officially launch the 2013 Yonex Canadian Masters Badminton Championships website.  Richmond BC is the site for our annual national Masters badminton event – the season finale to another great year of amateur competitive badminton.

Please visit us at: where you will find all the latest information at your fingertips with the click of your mouse. Mark your calendar to be in Vancouver from Monday, April 22 to Saturday April 27, 2013 and bring your favourite Disney costume!

You will notice that we are making a special effort this year to encourage the participation of some new faces and players from all parts of the world. The Lower Mainland of British Columbia is very proud to have a growing badminton community that includes a wide variety of nationalities, ages and abilities.  With the dedication of the coaches, the opening of new badminton facilities and the work of Badminton BC, we have seen the quality and quantity of badminton increasing at all age groups from Junior, to Open to Masters. We want to showcase this diverse group of amateur athletes and enthusiasts united by our passion for badminton.

Please help us get the word out – distribute this email to anyone you know who loves good competition, parties and fun. If you’ve never participated in a Canadian Masters Nationals, you don’t know what you are missing!  It’s not just about winning:  it’s about playing hard, meeting new and old friends, and having lots of fun!

We are also actively recruiting volunteers – so please let us know if you are interested and available – many hands make light work.

Finally, most participants realise that the cost to run the tournament well exceeds the registration fee, so we are also asking that you consider supporting the tournament either through a tax deductible charitable contribution or referring our website to a friend or a company that might want to sponsor.

Stay tuned! We're sure we can count on your support to make this a memorable event. Happy New Year and we look forward to writing you again early in 2013.

Dear Bellevue Badminton Club Members,

I wanted to thank you all for your support over the past year; it has been a year of growth and maturation for our club.  I want to thank our front desk  and our excellent coaching  staff for all their hard work over this past year.  As a club, we remain steadfast in our mission to promote and foster badminton in the Greater Seattle/Bellevue area .

In 2011 our club became firmly established as the focal point for badminton with ladders, lessons, and a family friendly atmosphere.  With the leadership of Paz as the head pro we have become the largest junior badminton program at a single club in the United States.  We continue to improve the work environment for our staff and maintain our club as a great place to attract outstanding coaching talent.

This coming year we will continue with our badminton programs, as well as begin to branch our classes out to other locations in the Seattle area as we pave the way to opening more badminton centers.  So we want to thank our members for their support and let everyone know that as a member you are directly supporting the growth of badminton in the Seattle area.

Thank you, and see you on the courts!

We want to thank Coach Toru for donating his time to raising money for the relief effort in Japan this past month.

The Bellevue Badminton Club agreed to donate a portion of all drop-in fees for the month of May and the results are in.

On behalf of the Bellevue Badminton Club and its supporters we are donating $740.00 to the Odyssey School for Tokiwagi Relief in Japan.

Thank you to all who participated in this effort.

See you on the courts!

Welcome back from the holidays!  We are in full swing at the Bellevue Badminton Club!  Our junior program continues at near capacity levels as our junior teams get their final push to train for the up coming junior nationals.  Our adult program is also doing well with a very good turnout for our intermediate adult training class.
