Overview
Bellevue Badminton Club offers comprehensive junior training programs for ages 4 and up, from introductory classes through elite competitive development. Our programs are designed to build strong fundamentals, develop game strategy, and foster a love for the sport.
Current Session
Session 4: March 2 - April 26, 2026 (8 weeks)
- Full registration opens: February 16, 2026
- Partial registration opens: February 20, 2026 (+$5 per class surcharge)
Program Levels
Recreational Classes
- Beginner 1 — No assessment required. Introduction to badminton fundamentals, basic strokes, and court movement. Open to all ages.
- Beginner 2 — Assessment required. Building on fundamentals with rally play and basic strategy.
- Intermediate 1 — Assessment required. Developing consistency, footwork, and game awareness.
- Intermediate 2 — Assessment required. Ages 7-18. Refining technique and introducing competitive play concepts.
Developmental Team
Structured team training for players advancing beyond recreational classes. Focuses on advanced technique, footwork patterns, tactical play, and match preparation.
Competitive Team
- Competitive Advanced — Assessment required. High-level training for junior tournament players focusing on competition preparation and performance.
- High Performance — Assessment required. Elite-level training for nationally competitive juniors. Badminton-specific court shoes required.
Assessments
All students entering non-Beginner 1 classes must complete an assessment for proper placement. Assessments evaluate stroke technique, footwork, game awareness, and overall ability.

Class Advancement
Students are assessed by coaches throughout each session. At Week 6, coaches nominate up to five students per level for advancement, followed by a coaching team vote. Advancement notifications are sent by email.
Students with poor performance or attitude may be moved down or removed from competitive training, with prior parental discussion.
Equipment & Attire
- Clothing: Athletic wear required (no jeans)
- Shoes: Closed-toe, non-marking, rubber-soled athletic shoes. Competitive/HP athletes must wear badminton-specific court shoes.
- Rackets: Junior rackets (grip size G5 or smaller) recommended for children under 4'6" (137cm). Free loaner rackets available on a first-come, first-served basis. Equipment available at the Pro Shop.
Sibling Discount
A 10% credit of the equal or lower tuition is applied for siblings enrolled in full-session classes. Submit the discount form to training@bellevuebadminton.com before the session ends.
Cancellation Policy
- Full session: No individual class cancellations. Cancel all remaining: 80% CourtReserve credit or 50% card refund.
- Partial / drop-in: 80% credit or 50% refund.
- Medical exception: 100% credit with doctor’s note.
