    2. TEAM REGULATIONS & REQUIREMENTS

2.1. Minimum 8 players per team match. At least 2 women must be included in the line-up for each team match. The 8 active players’ UBR rating must total less than 65,000.

2.2. The doubles pair must be ranked in order by adding both players’ UBR rating.
    Doubles 1 (Highest Point Total)
    Doubles 2
    Doubles 3
    Doubles 4 (Lowest Point Total)

The line-ups must be ranked from strongest to weakest based on the pair’s UBR point total.

2.3. Players may only play one match per tie.

    TEAM MATCH REGULATIONS

2.4. Each match is best of three games to 21 points.
2.4.1. The third game starts at 15-15 and plays to 21 points.

2.5. 1 point is awarded for each match won.
2 points are awarded for winning the Golden Match.
The team with the most points after all matches have been played wins the tie.

    GOLDEN MATCH

2.5.1 After the lineup has been submitted, the Team Captain of each team will flip a coin to determine who will get to choose first to eliminate a match as the Golden Match. The last match remaining after 3 matches have been eliminated will be the Golden Match worth 2 points to the team that wins.

For example, Team One wins the coin toss. Team One’s captain predicts that Team Two’s team will win Doubles 1, so Team One’s Captain eliminates that match as the Golden Match. Next, Team Two predicts their team playing Doubles 2 will most likely lose, so Team Two’s Captain eliminates Doubles 2 as the Golden Match. With two matches left, Team One will decide the final match to eliminate. The match that remains will be the Golden Match and worth 2 points to the team that wins.

2.6. All matches of the Team Match must be played, regardless if one team has already won.

    ORDER OF PLAY

2.7 The Golden Match shall be played last in each team match.
2.7.1 The Team Captain who loses the coin toss after submitting the line-up chooses the first match to play and takes turns with the other Team Captain deciding the order of play.

    CONDITION OF PLAY

2.8. All team players must wear their team jerseys when playing the league match. Also, acceptable badminton clothing must be worn by players.

2.9. Players must be prepared to go on court at the start of the tie; there will be a 10-minute default rule in effect. This applies to all remaining matches in a tie as well.

    SHUTTLES

2.10. Each team captain is responsible for supplying shuttles during Pool Play matches. Captains will be given three tubes of shuttles at the start of Pool Play and must bring the required shuttles to every team match.

    TEAM SUBSTITUTIONS

2.11. If a team cannot field a full lineup due to unavailable players, they may request a substitute from another team, provided that player is not competing in the same match or any other match in the league at that time. The lineup, including the substitute, must still meet all roster rules: at least two female players and a combined total rating under 65,000 points. This option may be used only once per season and requires approval from the League Commissioner.

2.12. Bellevue Badminton Club’s regulations are in place during the Pacific Badminton League.
